Ava Story
Ava is a normal little 4 year old child with the common childhood sickness but one day her belly was hurting and like a caring parents they took her to Pediatrician, after test and blood work came the dreaded words “Your Child Has Cancer” that was October 2024 and since then: Two surgeries which one was the removal of a kidney, will have receive roughly over 70 chemotherapy treatment during her year long treatment, 14 radiation treatment and in a 12 month period received 25+ blood transfusion. Ava has had her up and downs during her treatment of Pediatric (Wilms Tumors) Cancer, but has always been positive and cheerful as one can when being treated for cancer but most importantly, Ava has been an inspiration to us all, always having a smile always on her face and a grin that melts our hearts.
Our Dream
Our Dream for these events is to give back to the community and organzations that have supported Ava during a year long battle with Pediatric Cancer. Ava and her family have had the support of their families and a terrific hospital staff from Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago along with numerous a list that covers over two pages of other organizations that have assisted and supported Ava.
Our families (really Joe and Stacey) have put together a couple of benefits in Ava’s behalf. One is a Blood Drive called Pints For Princess Ava to assist the blood banks in the shortage of blood. Second event is Splits For Ava a cosmic bowling event at Brookmont Bowling Lanes. These events is to give back to the organizations that have helped Ava and her family with support.

Time: 3pm to 5pm
Where: Brookmont Bowling Center, 200 W Brookmont Blvd, Kankakee, IL 60901
Cost: $25.00 (Bowling, Shoe Rental, Pizza)
Procedes from the Cosmic Bowling Event will be given to an organization known as Project Fire Buddies. Project Fire Buddies is an organization of local fire departments (Chapters) that bring joy, hope, relief, companionship and support to critically ill children and their families in their community through unforgettable experiences.
